Latest event: In October, we were pleased to welcome the group ‘Hicksville’, led by George Smith, to celebrate Grain d’Automne in the Bergerac region, The music was mainly from the 60s and 70s, with lots of Beatles’ songs setting the scene. A good time was had by all, with optional 3-course meal, and dancing.
We hope to hold a Biker Weekend (no date set yet), with a concert on the Saturday night. This takes quite a bit of organizing, but details will be posted here as soon as we receive them.

Our first Barn Dance took place on Saturday 12th June 2010, when American professional caller, Peter Lippincott guided everyone through the steps. He translated some of the instructions into French, and the result was a bit of a mix-up, but most people ‘got there in the end’! Those who watched the proceedings were able to enjoy the spectacle. It was a very pleasant, warm evening, and there was time for general dancing afterwards. When we arranged this evening, we did not know that the England v USA World Cup football match would be on at the same time as the Barn Dance. As Peter was routing for the USA, and we were supporting England, it may have been fitting that the result was 1-1….. though the England fans may disagree with me! |
